Creating a mini-resume with your Heading, Job Objective, and Summary of Qualifications
Not all the questions on the Summary of Qualifications Worksheet will work for your situation. Just answer the ones that do, and you're bound to come up with three or four good statements for your resume.
Your Mini-Resume
Put your best foot forward! After you've listed your Summary of Qualifications statements, prioritize them so that the most relevant and most impressive one comes first.
Now that you've written your Heading, Job Objective, and Summary of Qualifications sections, notice how the top of your resume is sort of a mini-resume. It tells the employer
- Who you are
- What you want
- Why you should have it

Be careful not to list tasks you don't like to perform. Mentioning them is a sure way of finding them in your next job description.
Summary
- A strong Summary of Qualifications section will grab an employer's attention and make him think, "Here's the person for the job."
- Your Summary of Qualifications summarizes your qualifications for your next job (your future); it doesn't summarize you past.
- Don't write overused phrases such as "Excellent communication skills."
- Prioritize your Summary of Qualifications statements so that the strongest one comes first.
