Someone writing a resume always needs help. He/She asks for helps from other people. There are many so called resume experts who will provide you tips and tricks on this thing works and that does.
But does all the tips actually works? Are there any resume myths? Yes. Some of the things which are told to you are just the the myth and nothing else. Here are some of the most common ones.
Resume Myth 1 – You don’t need help in writing resume.
Well, that is the first myth. Many people think (and other suggest) that you don’t need to ask for help whiling writing your resume. Just write what you did in life. But that is not not true. You surely need help in choosing the right words to put on paper, in a beautiful way, of what you did in your life.
Resume Myth 2 – Create on resume, send it to 1000 employers and you will get interview.
Well, that doesn’t work as well. If you resume is week and does not puts your career in the right words, then whatever amount of resume you send, you will not get that interview call. Also, a resume which is custom made for a specific job in a company is at-least 10 times more probable to get you the interview call.
Resume Myth 3 – Don’t create resume more than one page.
If you are a fresher, then (and only then) it might be true, else it is a myth as well. You need to provide all your strengths, educational background and experience on your resume. So, two pare resume is the norm these days.
Resume Myth 4 – Employers spend a lot of time reading each resume
Not true. Most employers don’t have that sort of time in hand. They screen through the resume to search for the right candidate. So, make sure your title grabs their attention.
